Step 3 of 5 - Submission

Once the online application has been resolved (appointment booked and visa paid for on the visa4uk website), applicants then need to attend their appointments. Located at their local Visa Application Centre (JHB, DBN, CT, PE or PTA).

Please note that this appointment is not an interview. These Visa Application Centres has facilitated by a commercial agency (another word for specialised courier company) called Teleperformance. The Teleperformance officials have no bearing or impact in the decision being made.

Teleperformance officials have no understanding of visa legislation. They are actually not permitted to disclose supporting document requirements.

When compared to USA visas, their visa submission process is handled by an interviewer. Recording your correspondence. The UK on the other hand make decisions based purely on the paper work you supply (commonly referred to as supporting documents).

What supporting documents do I need?

There are at least 50 different types of UK visas (off the top of my head). Each one has its own unique qualifying criteria and needed supporting documents to evidence that the qualifying criteria is met.

What I can tell you is the basics of any visa application.

1. Valid SA passport (minimum of 6 months validity at the time of submission with a minimum of 2 blank pages).
2. Two colour passport photos (35mm x 45mm) with blank backgrounds.
3. Proof of supporting funds
4. Proof of UK accommodation arrangements
5. Proof of meeting the qualifying criteria
6. Proof of intent to honour visa rulings

If you are unsure of the qualifying criteria or how to evidence that you will honour the visa rulings, I recommend that you consider making use of Move Ups visa representation (especially for complicated cases).

Some Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I go to Teleperformance without an appointment?

The answer here is No. The UK government and Teleperformance do not have the man power to explain how to submit a visa application. Instead, the UK government have put all the information needed online (on the internet).

This webpage has been designed to help explain that if you do not have an appointment, you need to secure one by completing the visa4uk online application (step 2).

Q: My appointment is for tomorrow, how do I change it for a later date?

Applicants can log back into their visa4uk account, select their appointment and change the date or venue (before initial booked time).

Q: My appointment is booked for next week, how do I change it for a sooner date?

Not possible. The online boking schedule does not "open" up new or sooner opportunities (trust me I have tried).

Q: I missed my appointment, how do I change it?

Once applicants have passed their initially secured appointment, the visa4uk account will not permit change of time, date or venue.

Applicants can attend their local application centre with a past appointment, Teleperformance are not permitted to reject past applications. Applicants can submit anytime during Teleperformances office hours. (This also helps those who "run late").

Q: Do I have to hand in my passport or can I send someone else?

Fingerprint details (biometrics) have to be captured alongside the applicants passport. This means that applicants have to be present in the submission of their passports and supporting documents.
